Something I have always loved doing in my interiors is layering and adding texture. I believe there is no better way to make a house feel like a home than adding layers and textures. Visually it adds so much interest, depth, and personality to a space. It makes a room feel thought..
Serena & Lily's entire site is filled with decorative objects and furniture that do just that. They have such a unique and curated way of offering such warm and welcoming products. I find Serena & Lily's pieces to be versatile for a wide variety of home styles, from contemporary to transitional. I also find that their pieces are versatile throughout the home, for all different locations, causal or more formal.
Adding layers and texture is also an interesting way to dress up or to dress down a room, or tie it all together, just as you do with your wardrobe. Layers and different textures can surprisingly complete a look or a room. I added this Mohair pink throw to the end of our bed in our master bedroom and it completely tied together all the pinks from my canopy to the bench at the end of our bed beautifully. There truly is not a much more luxurious feel than mohair so it adds such a sophisticated feel to a space that needs just that. I absolutely loved incorporating this throw in our master.
This Serena & Lily coffee table not only has layers but it also has a beautiful grasscloth texture. The perfect shade of ivory makes it fit right into our room. The grasscloth texture makes it practical for a high traffic area with children. The grasscloth makes it more durable and resistant to toys and the texture is very easy to wipe down.
The table itself has two tiers, perfect for layering coffee table books, candles, trays, decorative objects and much more. Each tier of the coffee table itself is wide enough for a minimum of 3 rows by 3 columns of coffee table books, with plenty of room to place other objects. I love how much room it has and it makes it very easy to decorate.
